Meet Marblin

Oh my....I really can’t believe that July is almost gone! What a busy summer this has been. Isn’t it amazing how fast time flies. I looked at Gage today and thought, “Where is my baby?” He is 6 months old today and has moved up to the “big boy” carseat. My back was begging me to stop hulling him around in that carrier!
Now I have to update you on the 'main' Bobby. Its funny. Anymore, when I see people they say, “So hows Lakin? Gage?....and is Bobby still with you?” Of course he is. Everyday. Every night. Every dinner. So now, I have to add a few short Bobby stories....

Mark was in charge of Lakin the other night. Hands, teeth, face, hair, books....the whole nightly ritual. Then he goes downstairs to watch his hunting shows or Deadlist Catch re-runs. Whichever he has more DVR recordings of. In the meantime, I am feeding and rocking Gage to sleep in his room. In comes here Lakin (have I ever mentioned that she is the queen of stalling?). She comes up next to me and here is the conversation that follows....

Lakin - ”Mom, Bobby really wants to sleep in your bed tonight.”
Katie - “Lakin, your Dad put you in bed and you better get back there before he comes back up.”
Lakin - “But Mom, he really wants to sleep with you and dad tonight.”
Katie - “Lakin, he is sleeping in your bed. And you better get there now!”
Lakin - “Please Mom. Just let him. He will go right to sleep *Insert sad puppy dog face*”
Katie - “Ok. He can go in my bed but you need to get in your bed. Now.”
Lakin - “Well, how about this. Bobby sleeps in my bed and I sleep in his spot tonight!
Thanks Mom!”

I just sat there and shook my head saying, "Did my 5 year old SERIOUSLY just play me like that?"

Ok...one more story....I could write about the Bobbys all night long but I don't mean to bore you.

So....last week, (Boy) Bobby got a pet. It is an ostrich and his name is Marblin. The day I first “met” him, I was just starting supper, when I hear Lakin in the den yelling, “Ouch, No!, Bad Boy!, Ouchhhh!” When I yelled at her to see what was the matter, she didn’t answer. I go in the den and this “Marblin” character keeps biting her ankles. Come to find out, it is Bobby’s pet ostrich and it bits ALOT! But other than that it is very well behaved, easy to take care of, and we even celebrated his birthday the other night (yes....cake, candles, singing and all). But its really not a big deal to us because it seems as though we celebrate at least one of the Bobbys’ birthdays each month.

We are starting a pot on how long will these “friends” stick around?

Anyone wanna place a bet?
