Hobrock Farms finally started planting May 1st and have planted only 4 days since then because of rain and wet fields. Things are well on their way back to "normal." Of course normal around here means we are busy as ever. Mark has been working his "real" job 7-4:30 and then straight to the farm until midnight. I am staying busy with the kids and as always...working on projects around the house. Today, they prepped the basketball area on the new patio :)

Down River Down
The river stage is down. My 4th grade classroom has all been moved back to normal. Our 11 day (extremely stressful) break is over. My prize triple margarita maker has been placed back in its basement storage area (moved because of flood). There are no more U-Hauls sitting in front yards. The Semi trucks have all left town. Huge trailers in the driveways have vanished. No more flat boats tied to trees in front yards...all around town. Lakin and Gage are no longer are wearing their life jackets to go play on the swingset. The River Look is no longer busier than Times Square. No more sandbagging the levees. No 24 hour levee lookout. No more windows open, listening every minute of the day to make sure we don't hear the town emergency siren. No more volunteer workers needed. No more empty car lots because ALL cars were moved out of town. The businesses in town are all open. Prom date has been rescheduled for the end of June. Ahhhh...normal feels good.
