Lakin turned 7 years old today! This is the first year that I am not spending countless but memorable hours on a birthday bash at our house. Instead, we opted for a trip to Springfield with some friends. We are going to eat at The Pizza Machine and then paint pottery at China Towne (where they glaze and fire it). As I was leaving school today, I thought that it figures....the one birthday that we don't have an outside party planned, it is sunny and 76 degrees. However, as a friend pointed out that it did rain today. About 2pm, she was walking through town when all of the sudden, it started sprinkling while the sun was shinning brighter than ever. She thought it was weird then remembered it was Lakin's birthday and it has rained on April 24 for the last 6 years so it would have to rain today too AND IT DID :)
