Lakin is having quite the busy summer with 4 classes at the Armory....Awesome Arts, Kids in the Kitchen, Dance and Golf. Mark and I are both quite thrilled at how much Lakin is loving golf! We both play and are eager to be able to take her to the course with us. Gage is getting into it too! He still needs to work a little on his backswing. Although he is not participating in any structured activities, Gage has been labeled as "the destroyer". He can destroy your house in record time and hasn't learned to pick up after himself, just yet.
We have also been taking long weekends to the Ozarks for a little relaxation in the sun. Well sort of relaxing....our last trip was a little eventful. Mark was out of town for meetings (and a little fishing in Wisconsin) so my parents and I decided to head to the Ozarks for a 4 day weekend. We took 2 cars so my dad was driving their Volvo about 30 minutes ahead of us. Around Kingdom City, he called to say the car had died in the middle of the interstate! After a little freaking out and finally getting it to the side of the road and towed, we picked him up 2 hours later. Plans were then made to have the alternator replaced. It worked out though because we still had the Suburban. Two days later....the fuel pump went out on the Suburban! And because it is Flex Fuel, it had to be special ordered! But at least we still had the boat. One day later, we sold the boat and didn't have a new one yet! So now here we are....5 miles from town....no car....no boat...6 days later...BUT a beautiful lake view and plenty to eat and drink. It wasn't all that bad and everything got worked out in the end but next time, I am seriously thinking about flying!
